You know that phrase, "oh, that will never happen to me." Well, it is totally false. Things always happen. The post man skips your house when you are expecting an awesome package. Cars really will splash you when you are walking along the side walk. And, your children really can get sick, really sick.
Jazz decided to get sick, and I almost didn't notice. Jazz has Type 1 Diabetes.
Just a few weeks after lil' fella joined our family Jazz started going through diapers like crazy. He was super thirsty all the time. He couldn't sleep through the night because he would be so thirsty he would need a drink. Then one morning his breathing suddenly started sounding terrible, and he was throwing up all over the place. I took him in to see the doctor, and we ended up leaving the doctors office in an ambulance. After a four night and day stay at the hospital we took our little boy home with a text book of how to take care of him, a sweet little "poke case" with all his needles shots and test strips. He is doing fine now. I thought I would just share a couple of pictures from our four not so great days in the hospital. Here is Jazz taking a nap in the hospital. We had to wrap up his hand with the IV in it because he kept picking at it.
After the first two days in the hospital Jazz felt a lot better. Here he is putting on a puppet show for Ty when Jazz was supposed to be sleeping.
Jazz loved the toy room in the hospital. We drove this car through the hallways. Jazz made friends with the nurses and he would wave and say "Hi" as we drove past. Then he would shout "Bye!" after we had passed them. He was so funny.

If there was anyone to take care of a sick little boy, it would be you! I know you are being the most attentive, loving little mommy ever! I'm glad nothing too serious went wrong and you caught things in time.
You are an awesome mom! Jazz is so lucky you are the one taking care of him. Those were scary days, he looks so happy and well now, whew! I love you guys!!
You are such a good mommy!!! Little J is so blessed to have you as his mom! I don't know how you do it, but your strength, patience, kindness and optimism is so very admirable :) So glad to see that that sweet little boy of yours is all smiles now!
