Vacations...?

I am really awesome at taking vacations. As you can tell, I took a vacation from blogging for a while. I am really good at taking blogging vacations. Too bad that isn't a job or something or I could make crazy amounts of mulah!
I took a vacation to Cancun back in April, which you still haven't seen or heard about. Oops.
I also took a week vacation from life in May and went to visit my in laws in Maine. I kind of just inconvenienced them with my presence because hey, I had that kind of time. Plus free babysitting whenever I wanted to take a nap. That was great!
Then, the Fourth of July happened a little while ago. And I never posted pictures about it, so I thought I would throw some up here.
(here we are taking a vacation from talking about my vacations)
For the Fourth we went to a friends house and went swimming in their pool. Jazz loves the water. He is a water bug.

We (Ty and I) also made Jazz this awesome Fourth of July shirt, which of course we didn't photograph while he was wearing it. After the pool we just put our camera away and forgot about it. At least we took a few pictures right?

Jazz and I.... ok actually just Jazz likes to take vacations from wearing clothes. His main clothing items he wears on our lazy days is a hat and a diaper. He loves hats. He will smash them onto his head and wear them around for hours. Funny little guy.

Jazz and I also took a vacation from me making us dinner. When I make dinner for just the two of us while Ty is in school, well lets just say dinner lacks in awesomeness. So we went to the mall and went hat shopping and ate at Burger King.
We got Jazz this awesome new hat. He loves it if you couldn't tell.

After the mall and dinner we went outside and walked around. Jazz climbed up on every park bench and jumped off. Cuz that is what little boys do. Here is a super close up of his head.

Then Jazz took a vacation from us for a week. He went to Maine to attend  Camp J. It was more like a resort with a spa to be honest. While there he had grandparents and uncles to wait on him hand and foot. They played with him, fed him and bathed him. He got to play in some form of water every day!
I'm sure in his mind it was the best vacation ever.
Then cuz we missed him so much, Ty and I decided to have this  little fella while Jazz was gone.
Introducing....... Little Fella!

Wow, I chose two almost identical pictures in a row. I am really good at picking out pictures!

And here is lil' fella with his eyes open! Isn't he super cute? He actually looks like Jazz did when he was a new born. They are obviously related. I will have to post some pictures of them together at the same age. It will be fun to see if lil' fella stays looking like Jazz or if he grows into his own kind of person. Who knows!

Lil' Fella doesn't have as much hair as Jazz did when he was born. It is kind of sparse on the top. We will have to see how that grows in as well. This is Ty's favorite baby phase. The sleeping phase.

Fella was slightly jaundiced during our short hospital stay so they put him under the warming lights stuff, and he would stretch our like it was a luxurious tanning bed or something.

Here he is with his little heart monitor in the nursery.

We are all in love with this little guy. Jazz is still getting used to him of course, but the rest of us are just thrilled to have lil' fella join our family!

Shoes

Obviously I need to take more pictures to better record our lives, but I thought that this one would be fun to share.
For Father's Day Jazz and I picked out some new running shoes for Tys. Not only were Ty's running shoes almost 4 years old, but they looked like they had been serving as a chew toy to the Sandlot's monster dog. And the weekend before he had been doing yard work in them so leaves and sticks and tons of mud were just caked all over these shoes.
So we seized the opportunity to get him some new ones for Father's Day! We were only in the store for about 8 minutes when Jazz decided the shoe section was like torture so to make it more fun we tried on all the running shoes in Ty's size. These were the winning shoes. Jazz even has his shoes on inside of them.

Sorry about the quality. My phone takes awesome pictures lol. And Ty often mentions that Jazz has a  protruding frontalis muscle in his forhead. So I just thought we should show that off as well.

Don't you love how the shoes are bigger than his head and torso? Yup Dad is pretty tall.

Jazz's favorite activity is being outside with Dad. Ty always acts like these are his favorite moments of the day. lol. All I talk about when the day is over and we are just talking is Jazz, and when Ty has time to hang out with him he seems to forget that the majority of his day was spent at school and all he can talk about is Jazz too. It is nice to know that he way prefers his time with Jazz compared to his time at school. Though he does love being able to tell me about the set of dentures he gets to make for himself as one of his assignments lol.
Oh, and I was actually going to mention that Jazz loves bubbles. He prefers to dunk the wand into the bubble mix, but he also really enjoys catching the bubbles like every other toddler I have ever met. This is how Ty entertained him while I was cooking dinner. Jazz likes to hang onto my legs when I am cooking, and gosh is it hard to cook like that. You can't move freely from sink to counter to stove top or anything. So to save us all some frustration they go play while I cook dinner.

Isn't it crazy how fasts kids grow. Last year at this time Jazz was figuring out crawling. He was still chubby but he could get away with no pants on top of a onsie, but these days he is running around, he needs shoes every day, and we actually have conversations! That is one of my favorite things, having conversations with this kid. They generally go like this.
J: More milk mama
Me: What do you say, more milk....
J: Please!!
Me: Yay! Here is your milk.
J: (drinks a few swallows then stuffs his cup under the nearest couch) Where'd it go?
Me: Is your milk hiding?
J: Mi-i-ilk, where are you? (shaking his head from side to side like he is looking around)
Me: Mi-i-ilk, are you under this blanket?
J: (laughs) No! (peeks under a pillow) Unda pillow?
Me: Not there either! Where did it go?
J: (pulls it out from under the couch) Here it is!
We play this game every day. With several objects. His choo-choos, cows, alphabet letters, stars, and cars. All of his sentences are also slurred together so they sound like one longish word. Ty can never decipher what Jazz is trying to say, but since I hear them several times daily I have them down. He also says things like  where are you in a sing song way so you can tell he is looking for something just by the way he sings it. Sometimes though he never tells you what he is looking for so the game gets really long when you find something stuffed somewhere so you think you have it, but really he doesn't want to find that till later.
Jazz also thinks that the squirrels that frequent our bird feeder outside, are called kitties. He chases them around and around our yard yelling "Kitty!" and meowing at them. He just cracks me up.
I love that kid. Playing with him is the best job ever. I am so glad that I can be a stay at home mom, and do babysitting in my own house to help out with our budget. Things couldn't have worked out better for us.

Play Dough Fun

We are still waiting on pictures from Cancun sigh. Someday those will be so awesome. But that is ok. For now, I will just entertain myself with pics from today's fun/funny activities.
Ok, so I actually slightly lied. Some of these pics aren't actually from today. Like this first one down here. but, I just love his face, so he made it into this post. This was a day he was helping me rake the yard. I might have posted this picture before, but you know, it happens sometimes.

And yes, this next one is me. We are big fans of "po-poh" (play-dough) here. It is a favorite activity of a certian short someone who was pretending to feed me some of this blue substance when he realized hey, it sticks! So I gave myself the mustache, and Jazz helped to decorate the rest of my face. Then, believe it or not, he took my picture on my phone! Of course, I got my phone out and got the right app going, but he totally pressed the button while pointing the camera at me. Crazy skills. He took a lot of other pictures too, but most of them are super blurry, and are super close ups of his fingers.

Jazz thought it was more fun to stick the play-dough on me rather than have it on his face. Bummer, because it is his face I would rather stick on here. He kept grabbing my phone so getting a good picture was really super hard!

And this morning, right after breakfast, but before I got him ready for the day he decided this was the best new hat ever. (Do you like how I created a blockade in front of the stereo system? I was babysitting a little boy who just loves the buttons. We have trained Jazz not to touch them, but apparently other people actually keep their stereo's out of reach of small fingers.)

Here he is kind of peeking out from behind the box. Oh, and I cut his hair, can you tell? There is a difference between his non pajama pics, and his pajama pics.

Yup, here it is on his head again. He walked around wearing it for a long time. And he was so proud of himself for keeping it on his head that he wouldn't really watch where he was going. He would bang into stuff all over the place, which would cause it to fall off. He would quickly jam it back onto his head and walk off again. All the while, he would have this satisfied little smile. Super funny.

Oh and of course when I pull out the camera he starts doing something else with the box. Murphy's law I guess.

Often, the holes for the handles were the only way he could see in front of him, and not just his feet.

I realize that as hilarious as this 'box-on-the-head' thing is to me, it might be one of those 'you had to be there' type of moments. Or possibly it is one of those 'he is my flesh and blood and EVERYTHING he does makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside' kind of moments. I don't know for sure. Oh well!

Our regular days...

Boy, it has been a while. And boy! Jazz and I sure have taken a super awesome vacation! I am still waiting on pictures though, so those awesome and super exciting stories are just going to have to hang on till I get some fun photo's to make the stories more interesting.
So in the mean time, I thought I would catch you up on you know our regular days.
This is from a few months ago, when the weather was still really chilly, and we were (and still are) too cheap to turn up the heat. That is why James and I wear our sweaters and jackets inside the house on a daily basis.  This is also right after a hair cut for him, look at how short his hair was! Since then I have let it grow, and grow a bit more. I love it when he has longer hair on top I have decided. I also look slightly like a monster in this picture, but hey, we both look happy right? lol. My teeth at least look nice. Yay for being married to a future dentist!

Again from a little while ago (hence the still short hair on Jazz). We took him to the park, where Ty was the cool fun parent and took him on top of the playscape. I am not always that cool, so luckily Jazz has a dad who is! lol. He loves playing at parks, running through the grass, eating the grass, trying to feed the grass to us. Oh, and of course sliding down the slides. Those are his absolute favorite park toys. He will tolerate the swing for the first swing back and forth, then he wants to be down, and free. Whenever we go to the park we have to plan to be there for about 2 hours so that Jazz doesn't feel cheated when we put him back in the stroller. When I say 'we' I mostly mean me and Jazz, because poor Ty is still in school, which is super tough right now. But fortunately, Ty tries to spend quality time with Jazz for family home evenings, which has lately been family-go-to-the-park-evenings lol. Which everyone of course, enjoys immensely!

This is more recent. You can tell it is more recent by two things in these pictures. The first is that we have different couches! Yay! We used to have these heavy wooden couches, but Ty didn't love them because they were pretty uncomfortable if you care about your behind. Then some of our friends moved, sadness, but they let us have their couches, yay! These couches are much more comfortable than our other ones. So now Ty spends a lot more time studying, and playing with Jazz in this room than he did before. So they have been super nice!
Anyway, the second reason that these pictures are more recent, is Jazz's hair. Much longer now, and I like it much better long I decided. Not too long, but just longer.
Down below, Jazz got this awesome rockstar Elmo from one of Ty's school's secretaries. Isn't that funny. Ty is one of the only students who is married AND has a little family. So Ty is pretty much famous, and will randomly bring home gifts for Jazz that people who work at the school give him. Crazy, but awesome, Jazz will never know that most all of his toys were given to him by other people. He has so many toys it is ridiculous. You would think we were spoiling him, but we aren't the ones doing it. Weird huh. Anyway, Jazz loves Elmo with a passion. He carries this little guy around like a baby, he pats his back when he carries him, and he carefully sets him down by the eye balls lol. What great handles those things are. Here is Jazz giving Elmo a hug. (can you tell I am 6 months prego?)

Jazz also gives Elmo kisses. He always says "mmmmwha!" when he gives kisses, so you know he isn't just rubbing his nose on your face. It is nice to be able to tell the difference sometimes.

After he gives Elmo kisses, Jazz lets Elmo eat his head. I mean, kiss him back.

Jazz is so funny. I am going to insert a story here that has nothing to do with any of the pictures. Other than the fact that it happened on the Elmo pics day. So Ty had gotten home from school, we had eaten dinner and we were just lounging around on the couches. Ty was sitting on one side, I was laying with my head in his lap, and Jazz was climbing all over the couch. Jazz started climbing too high, so I told him to get down. He obediently jumped down, but landed right smack in my stomach. Man, that hurt like the dickens! We put Jazz to bed, but soon after I realized that I hadn't felt baby 2 move since the giant jump attack. After two hours of waiting for the usually active little fetus to do anything we started getting worried. I called the doctor who told us to come in and get it checked out. So we woke up Jazz, drove to the hospital, and got checked in. We thought it was going to be an ultra sound, but instead they had me dress in a hospital gown and they started hooking me up to all these monitors like they did when Jazz was born. Jazz, who was totally having a blast being up past his bed time, did not like the fact that they were hooking me up to all these machines. I would smile and talk to him but every time one of the nurses stuck a new thing on me Jazz would get all teary eyed and his little bottom lip would start trembling. Ty had to pace the room and block me from view so that Jazz would stop crying every time he looked at me. It was so cute in a sad kind of way. At first the nurses had a really hard time finding the heart beat, but after several super long minutes they got a faint reading on the monitors. They told Ty that they wanted to monitor me for 4 hours so Ty took Jazz home and put him to bed, and I stayed and watched American Idol. I have no idea what to watch on TV since we don't have any channels at our place. Anyway they let us go, baby 2 is doing fine, apparently he just needed some quiet time after getting jumped on. One of the nurses drove me home so Ty wouldn't have to wake Jazz up again. They all thought Jazz was super cute.  Which always makes me feel good to hear. They have no obligation to tell me my little man is cute or anything, so when they gushed about it each time they checked on me I felt super awesome. I love nurses!
Here we are at the last picture. This is from today. Ty had just finished a 5 hour test, of hundreds upon hundreds of different types of drugs. And Ty's favorite unwinding activity after a hard test is to go out and get Chinese food, and watch a show. This weeks favorite show is Cake Boss. Super silly drama, but super awesome cakes! Man, bakers are such artists! lol. Anyway, Jazz had just woken up from his nap, was super grouchy till we came down stairs and he saw the Chinese food. He loves Chinese food. He took my fork and just started digging in. He ate over half of my food! Just kept stuffing it into his little mouth. But look how happy he is eating my lunch. Who could say no to that little chub master?

We love Jazz super lots! We love baby 2 as well, and we hope he is as much fun as his older brother. Kids, are just awesome. I love being a mom! And I love our regular days.

Just Because...

So I am bored. Actually I have a ton of things to do, but I would rather be bored right now. And since I am being 'bored' I am going to put up some random pictures of Jazz! Hooray! So these pics are a little bit older, like two or three weeks old. But they make me smile to look at them. Jazz is a cheese ball for the camera, so I thought I would share a few of his cheesiness moments with you.

See, if this face isn't cheesy I don't know what is!

Jazz totally knows how to drink out of a cup, but for some reason, when I am holding him and he gets a hold of a cup he tries to lap it up with his tongue. I have no idea why. But we decided it was picture worthy.

And boy do I make really cool faces...yup.

And boy does this kid love yogurt! He will stand in front of the fridge and say "Pease!" for you to open it for him, then he will pull out a yogurt and say "Poon!" meaning, get me a spoon you! After receiving said spoon he will proceed to messily feed himself. These photos took place after a nap so his hair is awesome, but his faces he makes while eating the yogurt, and posing for the camera are true awesomeness.

Yup! That is my son! lol. And that is the end of this bored moment!

Easter- the James way

So last year for Easter we were super lame. I have found that Ty only enjoys celebrating holidays when we are with our families. I was trying to plan a menu, and cute little Easter-y things, and I have found that I am the only one who cares. Last year I let that get to me, so yup Easter didn't actually get celebrated in the traditional fashion. But THIS year, yeah I wasn't going to let it slip by again! Last year I was also full of excuses, I was doing my student teaching, Jazz was too small that he didn't care, couldn't do an egg hunt etc. But, this year we had no excuses! I planned an Easter dinner, and I bought material to make Jazz an Easter outfit (I get super excited about making Jazz clothes because I never know what to make for boys, and my mom always made us Easter clothes when I was growing up!) I also got together with some of our friends in our ward and we did an Easter egg hunt with the small kids. So I wasn't going to let this Easter slide without something happening!
Unfortunately that is when my plans started to fall through. Making plans is not something I am amazing at, so when things start to go wrong I get discouraged. First things first, I didn't actually start making the Easter outfit until Wednesday so like 4 days before I needed it to be done, and since I am 24 weeks pregnant (oh, I don't actually know if I announced that on here!) Anyway, I have a tough time bending down for long periods of time, so Wednesday I only got the pattern and material pieces cut out before I felt like my back was going to break. Then Thursday I got a late start that night sewing (cuz my dishes were calling me) so I only got a portion sewed together. So Friday I started to get worried. Ty sensing my stress levels were rising took us out to eat so I didn't have to cook, or clean dinner dishes! Yay for wonderful and awesome husbands! So I actually finished Jazz's outfit that night, whew! Then I found I had enough fabric I could make Ty a tie! But I had no idea how hard it is to make those things perfect! Who would have thunk! So I spent the rest of Friday night and Saturday night finishing that silly tie. Then on Saturday I remembered that we were invited to a friends for dinner on Sunday so I made our Easter dinner for Saturday. lol. Which was also the day of our Easter egg hunt, so I had to work around it. But I think it worked out ok! For dinner since there were only two adults eating we did it small, a ham, green beans, deviled eggs, and rolls. But we didn't finish it all so I felt ok about it. I was super amazed that I didn't do potatoes in it though, originally it was in my plans but it didn't fit in my time schedule. Oh well. And plus also we have about three desserts that I made. One for the egg hunt and two for the dinner at our friends house, and now we have three plates of desserts just chillin. Ty says that they are all mine since the doctors are always telling me to gain more weight anyway. Great, thanks Ty, that is exactly what I want, to gain weight. Anyway, are you ready for some pictures? I know I am!
I wanted to show you how awesome Jazz looks when he is drinking out of a straw. He loves those things.

Here is the Easter Egg Hunt. We each brought 12 eggs per kid, but the eggs went to anyone, so I just packed them with candy since I knew other kids would get our eggs. Jazz showed absolutely no interest in picking up eggs. Here I am dragging him over to the field were over 100 eggs were just laying on the ground.

And here Jazz is running back toward the toddler slide lol.

Here he is on the slide!

I went into the field and grabbed two eggs and tossed them close to the slide, fortunately Jazz was watching and wanted to see what I was doing. Here he is running over.

Whoah! Two whole eggs! Way to go Jazz! Of course, he immediately ran over and dropped them into someone else's basket. Sigh. Next year he will get the egg hunt a little better I hope.

Yay for Easter morning! And he is wearing the vest and little bow tie that I made him. I think they turned out super cute for my amateur sewing skills. Of course the only thing he pulls out is the bubbles. He loves bubbles.

Oh, I just love that little face!

And yay for matching! Ty actually wore the tie I made him! He is super picky about his clothes, and I thought for sure he wouldn't wear the imperfect tie I made. I told him he didn't have to and that I would wear it in my hair or something, but he wore it! All day long at church and at the dinner!

Ty had to tickle Jazz to get him to smile with more than just his lips, I love Jazz's face when he is being tickled.

Yup. Super fun. I have such a cute little family. I love them a lot!

Hello!

So some people would think we fell off the edge of the world or something, but we are actually still here! I just find it more entertaining to look at every one else's blogs rather than my own... so yes. I kind of need to catch up a bit here and there.
The only problem about catching up is I feel like this blog is more interesting when I have pictures of a certain someone to share along with our adventures. You will never believe this but, I have only one picture between now and the last time I posted! ONE new picture! How ridiculous is that! Luckily for me, Tys took a lot with the actual camera, but he is hogging the SD card so I haven't put them on my computer yet. Don't worry I will force him to share with me sooner or later.
So here is my only and lonely picture. He looks awesome because he just woke up from a nap. And yes the room is a mess of toys (it looks like that a lot these days.) And also, yes, I do watch Bones on occasion so she made it into this photo. Normally Jazz is asleep during my "lunch break" and that it when I watch a show here and there, but this time he decided to wake up before I could eat. (My lunch break also is the time when I clean up around the house so I have to squish a lot of activities in a 2 hour time block. Don't worry though, I know that cleaning comes before TV so that is why my lunch got bumped to after nap time.) Anyway enjoy it, it is the only one I have!

This next one is our family Christmas picture. I never realized how hard it would be to pose your baby, get him to smile, and to be prepared to smile and look at the camera myself! Whew! What a photo shoot that was!

Yup, that is it. Nice huh? Well, till next time when there are actual pictures to share!
